Because there is a short in the bulb. Bang on the dash just above the light and see if it comes back on, mine did.
check your bulbs some bulbs have two filament on them one may be out and the other working.
There is a good chance that they will be able and willing to do routine maintence. On the other hand they will NOT be able to do any warranty work. Your local Mitsubishi dealership will most likely not be able to get parts for a 2010 montero other than common filters or parts it may share with the last montero sold in the states.
Montero is a great vehicle, but don't bother with the two wheel drive version in snow country -- you might as well be driving a pickup truck with sand bags in the back. It will do OK in anything less than 4 inches but forget it after that, at least in Wisconsin.
The 98 Mitsubishi Montero has two possible low side ac port locations. One is on the drivers side firewall, the other possibility is on the passenger side frame rail, below the air filter box.
I took mine to Tune-Up Masters and I was charged 159.99 because of the extra labor they had to do. On Montero Sports they have to remove the air intake to reach the other spark plugs.
You can call your local firestone (or any other dealer) they should have a book that they can give you the specs from.
junk yards in ca and other states can't sell exahust parts. check with your local dealership.
Not a car a SUV. If you can drive something big you can drive anything and it will keep you safe in a accident. Honda CR-V, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, older model Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, KIA Sorrento and Hyundai Santa Fe or any other SUV that is not to big.
On a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, the thermostat is typically located in the engine compartment, near where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. To access it, you may need to remove the hose and possibly other components for better visibility. It's a good idea to consult your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions or diagrams related to your model.
The 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 3.5L is listed as an "Interference Engine" under timing belts in the www.RockAuto.com auto parts catalog. This means the valves or other major engine parts will be damaged if the timing belt breaks while the engine is running. So replace it as part of scheduled maintenance. Many manufacturers recommend changing the timing belt every 60K miles. I do not know if Mitsubishi recommends different mileage intervals.
Don't quote me on this, but I believe it stands for Rally Sport; just like the RS in Chevrolet's Camaro RS. Although it is not widely circulated, this abbreviaton could be due in part to Mitsubishi's huge Rallying program in the 1980's and 90's. Mitsubishi placed quite a few Pajeros (aka the Montero in the U.S.) in the Dakar Rally and other Rally and Off-Road Races. Even today, the Pajero is still competing in the Dakar Rally and has clentched the Overall Win more than once. Hope that helped!
There are two fuse boxes on the montero. The high amperage fuse box is located under the hood, near the battery. The other, interior fuse panel is located underneath the driver's side of the dash board on the left side of the steering wheel.
