Your 2000 petrol Rodeo may be surging under load due to several potential issues, such as a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or dirty fuel injectors, which can restrict fuel flow and affect engine performance. Additionally, problems with the ignition system, like worn spark plugs or ignition coils, could cause misfires that lead to surging. Intermittent surging can also be triggered by an air intake issue, such as a dirty mass airflow sensor. It's best to conduct a thorough diagnostic to pinpoint the exact cause.

Here in Oz, the Rodeo is called a Frontera and has a 3.2 V6 petrol engine, or a 3.0 turbo diesel straight four. Sold through General Motors Holden and called Holden Frontera and Holden Rodeo. The Frontera (your Rodeo) here has a 65 litre tank (13 imperial gallons or 14 U.S. gallons.) The Rodeo here (a pick up truck which I believe you call the Pu'p?) has the same choice of engines. (In 2005 the V6 was increased to 3.5 litres). The Rodeo (pick up) has a 65 litre fuel tank except in the crew cab (four door) where the tank is only 57 litres. I have the crew cad but also use the single cab and the Frontera (Rodeo to you).

To remove the fuel tank on a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo LX petrol crew cab, first, ensure the fuel system is depressurized and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Then, support the tank with a jack and remove the straps securing it. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors from the fuel pump, and carefully lower the tank from the vehicle. Be sure to follow safety precautions and consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions.
