Time to replace enging oil
You can't reset that light...there is no such thing as a 2002 Honda Element...they didn't come out until 2003.
No. There is a problem
its not a light, reset with your key
No, the "Check Engine" light will only come on if there is a problem with the emissions system. Do not confuse this light with the "Maintenance Required" light which does come on at a set mileage to alert you that maintenance needs to be performed.
This is basically an "oil change reminder" light. Check your manual on how to reset it.

what causes the light to come on
It needs maintenance you can disconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery and reconnect it to clear any erros in the ECU
Why does oil light come blink on 2003 Jetta 2.0 after oil change
If you mean the oil change maintenence light... Set the odometer to total miles (The actual odometer reading). Turn the truck off, then turn the key (While holding the re-set button) so the engin is not on, but the power is. The light will then flash and go out. It will come on again in another 5,000 miles to remind you to get your oil changed. the button the last guy is referring to is located to the left of the speedometer, tach, guage assembly (combination meter) it says "reset" on it
No
The check engine light comes on when the computer has detected a problem with the emissions system. The engine maintenance light comes on when the engine needs some scheduled maintenance such as an oil/filter change.
