because the entire point of the overflow resovoir is to overflow, and release uneeded water
The radiator cap could be the cause of coolant reservoir overflow or backup. Have the cap checked to see if it is bad.
A channel for an overflow of water, as from a reservoir
Both. The reservoir is the overflow. But in the event your radiator is low, your reservoir will back it up.
If the brake fluid reservoir is overfilled, the excess fluid runs through the overflow instead of over the bodywork, which would cause damage to the paint work.
The engine coolant reservoir or the overflow bottle.
coolant overflow/reservoir tank
the overflow res. cap is the radiator cap on the 97 cavalier
Fluid may back up into the overflow reservoir due to a few factors, primarily related to cooling system issues. A malfunctioning radiator cap can fail to maintain proper pressure, allowing coolant to escape into the overflow reservoir. Additionally, if the cooling system is overfilled or if there is a blockage in the system preventing normal circulation, excess coolant may be forced into the overflow. Lastly, overheating due to a failing thermostat or water pump can also cause coolant to expand and overflow.
clutch fluid. Small reservoir looking like the brake overflow reservoir only about 1/3 the size.
There is none. The "cap" is on the overflow reservoir.
As time passes water in the fluid evaporates and needs more so it Will suck it out of the overflow. It Will also dump it into the overflow if it overheats.
