Keep an eye on that.

I have had a newly rebuild engine smoke several times, usually because of assembly lubricants burning off, but it stopped pretty quickly.

Another cause might be oil or coolant in the exhaust system also.

If the smoke does not quit after 10-20 minutes you may need to go over that engine again, perhaps a seal is not set properly.

What causes overheating in a 4G15 when radiator is newly overhauled and water pump is new and engine oil is new?

Overheating in a 4G15 engine, even with a newly overhauled radiator, new water pump, and fresh engine oil, can be caused by several factors. Potential issues include air trapped in the cooling system, which can impede coolant circulation, or a malfunctioning thermostat that may not open properly. Additionally, blockages in the coolant passages or a faulty temperature sensor can also contribute to overheating. Lastly, inadequate coolant levels or a failing head gasket could lead to excessive heat buildup.

How many speed should apply when you break in the newly overhauled engine?

I've always been told to don't go over 55 mph, no heavy acceleration under any conditions, and give it about 5000 miles and that should do the trick. Which and then should be changing the fluids then. But as a caution, I would extend it out another thousand miles, but shouldn't have to worry about the speed any further. It's a matter of personal preferences and whether you believe you'll keep the car for years to come and care about the potential owners of the car
