I notice the light blinks when the AC is left on and the temperature drops significantly when the car is re-started next. When the temperature is too cold, the AC will not engage. I have also seen it come on sporadically when the refrigerant level is low in the system but I don't know if that is supposed to happen, it could have been a coincidence.
