I believe what you are hearing is the "Starter Relay" a device that sends voltage to the starter to turn. Two old tricks are (1) tap the starter lightly with a soft mallet or hammer, if the Bendix spring is getting stuck this may loosen it. The other is to use a screwdriver between the hot side and the starter side of the relay, they also make a starter switch that will do it. If it turns then your relay is bad. Good luck
Remove your starter, have the Solenoid checked out. Also check out your battery, common noise when you either A) Don't have enough battery charge or B) Starter solenoid is over-drawing amperage
Usually this means the battery is worn out and there isn't enough charge to turn over the starter
The buzzing sound is possibly the starter solenoid, sounds like battery is low or stater motor is stuck.
just had that problem, your battery is going! my batt totally flatlined & there was a buzzing/clicking from under the dash sounds like a short but my mechanic popped in a new battery and problem dissapeared!
A buzzing sound when you attempt to start your vehicle typically indicates an issue with the starter motor or the battery. If the battery is weak or failing, it may not provide enough power to engage the starter, resulting in a buzzing noise. Alternatively, a faulty starter solenoid may fail to make a proper connection, leading to the same outcome. It's advisable to check the battery voltage and connections, as well as the starter system components.
If the turn signal switch is buzzing when turneing, usually means you need to replace it.
The loud buzzing noise you hear from under the hood when you turn the key to start the vehicle usually means the battery is too low to crank the engine or a loose cable. Some auto parts stores will test the battery free of charge.
You either have a loose/corroded battery cable or a weak battery.
Loose or corroded battery cables Weak battery
Bad battery, or starter problem.
When exposed to high temperatures, heat bugs make a buzzing or clicking sound.
mine is doing the same thing and i have no clue my battery keeps dieing at night
