Hi Your ECU needs re-setting. Detach the negative cable from the battery. Press break pedal for ten seconds. Leave car detached for two hours. Attach battery. Warning, you will probably lose your radio pre-sets, so make sure you have the re-activation codes. Start car, DO NOT TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR. Leave the car to idle for ten minutes. Turn off engine. The next bit is tricky, it's called hard driving, and needs to be done three times. Engage first, accelerate to about twenty mph, and change into third immediately. Each time drive about quarter of a mile. These readings are very approximate. If you are woried see a mechanic and ask his opinion, but what ever you do don't redline. Best regards Tony

like many or almost all cars, it is a SIXTY SECONDS, without push the gas pedal.
The 1996 & 1997 Honda Civic are both the 6th generation so almost all parts should be interchangable.
other than options and sub-models, they will be almost identical

One place to look for a 2010 Honda Civic is at a Honda dealership. There are many of them located around London and they should have this vehicle to buy.

The cost to replace a transmission on a Honda Civic depends on where the transmission is purchased, if it is new or used, and the charge of labor if any at all. Some used transmissions for a Honda Civic can start around $500. A new transmission can start around $1,700.
