A bad fuel cap can make your check engine light go on. It shouldn't cause your car to run rough or die.
A bad spark plug, a bad spark plug wire, a bad distributor cap, a bad rotor, a bad fuel injector, the firing order is mixed up, a bad valve or a vacuum leak could cause your rough idle.
A bad seal on a gas can cap could potentially cause vapor lock in the gas can itself, leading to issues with fuel flow. However, vapor lock in the vehicle's fuel system is typically caused by heat-induced evaporation of fuel before it reaches the engine, not by a bad seal on a gas can cap.
Check for a bad fuel injector jet, a damaged spark plug wire, bad distributor cap contact, or fuel mixture too rich in fuel injection system. Hope this helps, E200
Could be, a bad spark plug(s), a spark plug wire(s), a bad distributor cap, a bad rotor, a vacuum leak, bad fuel injector(s).
Could be as simple as a loose or bad fuel cap.
Incorrect fuel pressure, Dirty fuel filter, Dirty air filter, Contaminated fuel, Bad spark plug wires, Bad distributor cap, Bad rotor, Bad spark plugs, Wet ignition parts,
A bad spark plug, a bad spark plug wire, a bad distributor cap, a bad rotor, a bad fuel injector, the firing order is mixed up, a bad valve or a vacuum leak could cause your skip.
Engine that was operated with a loose , missing or bad fuel cap.
Most likely, bad plug wires, or bad distributor cap, wire in wrong place in cap. Also, plugged fuel filter (lean mixture) or split in hose (in the tank) that connects fuel pump to the fuel line (that's what my 84 had).
A bad fuel injector poppet could cause that.
The most probable cause is a vacuum leak or a bad fuel cap. Inspect all the vacuum hoses for damage and buy a new fuel cap, making sure it is tightly on the vehicle.
well i'd give it a tune up new plugs new cap and rotor new plug wires and have timing checked Fuel pressure regulators can also go bad, or your EFI poppets are clogged and you're not getting a full "spray" from them.
