I lived northeast of Vancouver WA and was surrounded by pastureland with wide open views. I saw them on two separate times during the few years I lived there. One time I sat on my back porch and watched them for hours and they were amazing-moving constantly just like they do further north. They were mostly green but extended right down to the horizon line and illuminated the night sky entirely. The other time, the colors were hot pink. I thought it was just a weird cloud, but realized later it was northern lights.
I'm thinking it's not possible now as so much population has now moved into that area and the night sky is probably polluted with city light.
