Yes they did. Those space suits cost millions of dollars for a reason. People who do not believe this happened just really do not know much about science at all.

It's clear that 500,000 people can't keep a secret. The whole hoax idea started from some people who did not know enough about science to understand what the photos were showing, and so assumed the photos were fake! But if you go to badastronomy.com or clavius.org these simple mistakes are explained in such a way that the "hoax" idea no longer makes any sense... not that it ever really did!
