We consider the Moon to have no atmosphere. There are traces of radon and a few other things resulting from the out-gassing of rock on the surface, but there just isn't enough to really answer this question in the affirmative.
The reason the Moon has no atmosphere is that it's gravity is too slight to "hang on to one"
People used to think that moons such as the Earth's moon or the moons of
Jupiter had no atmosphere whatsoever. Now, however, measurements have
shown that most of these moons are surrounded by a *very* thin region of
molecules which can *almost* be called an atmosphere. Such is the case with
the Moon.
The atmosphere may come from a couple of sources, one source is outgassing
or the release of gases from deep within the Moon's interior. Abundant gases,
such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, can be outgassed
along with rare gases such as radon.
There are molecules which are loosened from the surface when other molecules
from space hit the ground. These molecules may migrate across the surface of
the Moon, to colder regions where they recondense into the ground, or they
may fly off into space. This mechanism may be a source of lunar water.
Molecules from space come from the solar wind. Because its surface is protected
by neither an atmosphere nor a magnetosphere, the Moon is constantly
exposed to the solar wind, and these molecules get buried in the Moon's
surface. Eventually scientists on Earth will understand more about the process
of nuclear fusion, which is another way create energy. Then these molecules
buried in the Moon's surface may become an important source of fuel for
energy.
Yes. Several moons in the solar system have very tenuous atmosphere. Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, is the only moon in the solar system with a substantial atmosphere. Titan's atmosphere, composed mostly of nitrogen and methane, is denser than Earth's atmosphere.
No...the moon has no atmosphere. This is why the moon has many craters.
No, the moon has no atmosphere
There is no atmosphere on the moon.
In theory, yes.
New Moon, Gibbous Moon, Cresent Moon, Half- Moon, Full Moon, Half- Moon, Cresent Moon, Gibbous Moon, New Moon When the moon is going to Full Moon, it is called waxing. When the moon is going to New Moon, it is called Waning
The phases of the moon are: New moon Waxing crescent moon First quarter moon Waxing gibbous moon Full moon Waning gibbous moon Last Quarter moon Waning crescent moon New moon
the moon is the moon
The moon is included in the sun and the moon, so the moon has everything that the sun and moon have.
Yes.
Yes.
yes done
yes Uranus dose have an atmosphere
Free oxygen
Earth's Atmosphere was named ''Blue Sky'' Because the atmosphere is Blue.
the earth atmosphere is made up of carbon dioxide and oxygen and some helium.
The Martian atmosphere contains about 95.3% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 2.7% nitrogen.
early organisms created oxygen from other gases in the atomsphere
Because mars has a thinner atomsphere and greater distance from the sun.
it is the biosphere and the atomsphere
Atomic number of the element occupying the greatest part of the volume of the atomsphere is.
