Gravity from the sun. If a planet went too slow it would fall directly into the sun. It a planet went too fast it would shoot itself directly into space. The planets move just the right speed to stay around the sun.

Why do you do specific gravity what is its purpose?

because without gravity we would all float around and mabie float into space... It would kill us because without gravity we would all float around and mabie float into space... It would kill us

Why don't planets float around?

Planets do "float" in space due to the force of gravity, which keeps them in orbit around a star. Their movement is controlled by the balance between their forward inertia and the gravitational pull exerted by the object they are orbiting. Without gravity, planets would not maintain their stable orbits.

If there is no Gravity in space what holds up the Planets?

Planets are held in orbit around a star by gravity. Gravity is the force of attraction between objects with mass, and it is what keeps planets in their respective orbits around stars like our Sun. Without gravity, planets would not be able to maintain their position in space.

Does the sun hold the planets in orbit with its gravity?

Yes. Without the sun's gravity the planets would move out into interstellar space in straight lines.

Do you float in space?

No, you do not float in space. In space, there is no gravity to pull you down, so you would float freely.

Why do space shuttle float on space?

A space shuttle is able to float because there is no gravity in space.

Why can things float in space?

there is no gravity in space

What would happen if there was no gravity ?

If gravity suddenly went away, we would fall off and float in space <DEADDD!!!> ....................................................... If there had never been such a thing as gravity, there would be no planets or stars to create life to fall off of them. They were formed and placed due to gravity.

Why do planets have to be in space?

If they aren't in space, then where else can they be?

Does gravity affect the air we breathe?

Yes, gravity affects the air that we breathe. That is why it is harder to breathe when we go up high mountains. There is less air there. Without gravity, the air would float off into space, just as we would.

What would happen if we didn't have gravity?

If we didn't have gravity, all objects on Earth would float off into space in a straight line at a constant velocity. Without gravity, there would be no force keeping celestial bodies in orbit around each other, leading to chaos in the solar system. Additionally, the absence of gravity would have profound effects on the human body, as our bones and muscles rely on gravity to maintain strength and structure.

Can you float around space with your space suit on and land on other planets?

No
