Scientists can detect the signature of a possible tornado using Doppler radar.
However, they rely on reports from spotters, police, and the general public to know if a tornado is actually on the ground.
Meteorologists can detect the signature of a tornado or the rotation that may lead to one using Doppler Radar, which can measure wind speeds at a distance. They also receive reports from weather spotters who report tornadoes and other severe weather as they occur.
We don't know yet, but I think maybe it's just a saying, you know how they say " I know!", but they really don't know.
It is impossible to make long term predictions for when and where a tornado will occur. At best, we will know about this next tornado a few minutes before it forms.
Signs that a tornado may be near include a dark, greenish sky, large hail, a loud roaring sound, and a visible funnel cloud. If you hear a tornado warning or see these signs, seek shelter immediately.
look at the news or check out the NWS website to see if there are any tornado watches or warnings. or if the alarms are going off and you are hiding and the rain stopes really quick that means its right there happen to me 3 times
There is know way of knowing that. The development of an individual tornado might be predicted, at most, a few minutes ahead of time
There are two primary ways. First is Doppler radar, which measures winds moving toward and away from the radar to detect features in a storm that can produce a tornado, and sometimes the signature of the tornado itself. Then, by simply looking at where the storm is going they can warn places in the potential path. However, radar cannot determine if a tornado has actually touched down, and can occasionally miss a tornado. For this reason there are storm spotters. These are people who report severe weather such as tornadoes to authorities. Through such reports meteorologists (weather scientists) can gain a better idea of the potential threat.
It is inevitable that Orlando will eventually have a tornado, as it is in a tornado prone area. However we won't know when the next one will be until it actually happens.
That sort of thing is impossible to know.

Scientists are still not sure how exactly a thunderstorm produces a tornado or why one storm will produce a tornado while another won't. They are still not sure what determines how strong or how large a tornado will be or how long it will last.
It is useful to know the wind speed of a tornado because it provides an understanding of tornado intensity and dynamics. It is important to know the forwards peed of a tornado because that is needed to know when a tornado might reach a location in its path.
I used to live in Tornado Alley... a tornado watch means that the weather conditions mean it is very likely that a tornado will form in an area. A tornado warning means a tornado has touched down nearby.
Tornadoes are poorly understood and scientists are still not sure what is involved in forming them. Furthermore, the factors that we do know contribute to tornadoes can be diffdifficult to detect.
Velocity is speed and direction. It is important to know the velocity and not just the speed, because with both speed and direction you can figure out where a tornado is going and when it should get there.
in the middle of a tornado it's clear and calm unlike the middle of a hurricane witch is the weakest place but has wall's that will rip you apart with great force but good advice is if you know a tropical storm is coming or a tornado go to a different state so you wont get hurt
For May 24 2011 there is a very little chance of a tornado coming your only going to get rain very late at night. For May 25, 2011 there is a very good chance of a tornado coming.Do not panic it is still too early to know if it is actually going to happen. What I suggest is to practice your tornado safety rules and just be prepares for the worse. Check for expired food and see if batteries fir a flash light work in your emergency kit. Be safe and my prayers go to you for the best of your luck
