Cave of the Moving Shadows is about a young Cro-magnon boy, Kimba, who is living with the Tribe in prehistoric times. He longs to become a hu8nter, but he is instead under training to become a sorcerer, a person who is a leader of the Tribe, and does "magical things. When his father gets gored by a mammoth with only one tusk, Kimba sets out top find the tusk that gored his father because the sorcerer told him it would heal his father. Hes sets off with a dog who he is not sure will kill or help him. I think this book is a very interesting read because it shows determination, bravery, companionship, and love. Also, it has realistic characters, great vocabulary, and imagery. i would suggest it for grades 4-8, but it is a worthwhile read for any ages.
