Every star is a different distance from us. The nearest one is about 93 million miles.

(That's the one called the "Sun".) The next nearest one is 4.3 light years from us.

That's about 25,278,030,000,000 miles. (You can see why it's easier to use light-years

than miles.)

From there, there are billions and billions of stars, grouped in billions and billions of galaxies.

The farthest ones we can see are about 14 billion light years away, but we're sure there are

more that are farther away than that.
