none A Planet does not Orbit Around its Moon, Moon is the word given to a body that orbit around a Planet. __________________________ The earth and our moon orbit around each other, and in a more formal or accurate sense, they each orbit around what is called the barycenter. The barycenter can be thought of as the 'center of gravity' of a planet-moon system. Take the theoretical situation where a planet and its moon are of identical mass. Observing from the perspective of the distant stars, you would NOT see the 'planet' moving smoothely in its orbit around its sun, leaving the 'moon' to spiral in its orbit around the 'planet'. You would observe the two bodies spiraling around each other, almost as if they were attached by a tether. The point around which they orbit is the 'barycenter', the center of gravity of the two bodies taken as one. In the case of the earth and our moon, the mass of earth is so much greater that the barycenter is actually within the body of the earth. But it is not at the very center of the earth; it is much closer to the surface. You would still see a little wobble in earth's movement as it swings outward in its orbit around the barycenter. So the earth does, in a real sense, orbit the moon just as the moon orbits the earth. This barycenter concept is involved in the orbit of any body around any other body.

How many day does the moon orbit the sun?

The Moon does not orbit the Sun. It orbits the Earth.

How many times does the moon circle around the sun?

Once a year since it's in our orbit.

Can the moon orbit around the sun?

The moon does orbit the Sun. Locked in orbit around the Earth, as the Earth orbits the Sun, the moon orbits the Sun.

How many days does the sun take to orbt the moon?

The sun doesn't orbit anything, the planets orbit the sun, and our moon orbits us. It takes 24 hours forthe moon to orbit us once and 365 days for the earth to orbit the sun once

What causes the moon to orbit around the sun?

the moon doesent orbit the sun, the earth orbits the sun and the moon orbits the earth.

How many times big the Sun from Moon?

The Sun is about 400 times as big (diameter) as the Moon. It just happens that the Sun is about 400 times as far away as the Moon so that when the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun there can be a total eclipse of the Sun. The orbit of the Moon is eleiptical , sometimes close and sometimes farther away from the earth and when the alignment happens at a time when the Moon is farther away, the eclipse is annular (like a ring).

How long does it take for the sun to orbit the moon?

Quite simply, the Sun DOESN'T orbit the Moon.

How many days to take moon orbit the sun?

365 but not really because the moon orbits the earth not the sun

Why does the moon orbit the sun?

it doesn't orbit the sun it orbits the earth

Why can the moon not escape from the earth?

The earth is six times more massive than the moon. That keeps the moon in orbit around it, just as the mass of the sun keeps the earth in orbit around it.

Why doesn't the moon orbit around the sun like the earth does?

The moon does orbit the sun. The moon orbits round the earth, while both earth and the moon orbits round the sun.
