There are generally two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses each year; of the solar eclipses, about 30% are total solar eclipses. You can see the catalog of all eclipses from 2000 BCE to 3000 AD on the NASA Eclipse Web Page, linked below.

I pulled the years 1909 through 2010 into Excel, and counted 71 total solar eclipses in that period.
