How was Artemis born?

Artemis was born on Delos or Ortygia. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin of Apollo. There are two accounts of her birth:

1. Told by Callimachus, Hera was angry at Zeus for getting Leto pregnant, and forbade her from giving birth on land. However, Leto disobeyed Hera and gave birth to the twins on an island.
2. Zeus turned Leto into a quail to prevent Hera from discovering his infidelity when she had her children.
