There isn't a zero gravity environment, but if there was, planets wouldn't form. Planets form by very large rock all attracting to each other and gain enough energy that the center pulls the surrounding rock and smooths then into a sphere. So if a zero gravity environment existed. There would be no planets.

yes. It seems from the latest experiments plants to do not rely on gravity as much as was previously believed. see news. national geographic .com/ news/ 2012/ 121207- plants-grow-space-station-science/

the plant would most likley die because roots grow down because of the gravitationall pull, so the roots would have no idea where to go.

There is also no oxygen in space, but it really depends on if you are growing the plant out in space or in a lab.

I don't think they would grow at all because they would need gravity to keep them growing.

Can plants be grown on the moon?

I think the question was in reference to the ability to grow plants in a controlled environment. And the answer would be yes. Using hydroponics systems we could do this. Without a controlled environment we would not be able to grow plants.
