To see a crescent on a planet, most of the surface that is facing you must be dark. For this to happen the planet must be between the sun and you. Planets that are further away from the sun therefore will never have a crescent phase when viewed from Mars.

If you lived on the sun would you still see the moon go through phases?

No, you wouldn't. The phases of the moon we see from earth depend on the fact that the sun lights different sides of it, though only one side of the moon always faces earth. The key is that we are looking at the way the sun lights the moon's surface from here on earth. From the sun, we'd see a moon that was constantly being lit, and lit from right where we were looking at it from, if that makes sense. No "darker" phases would ever appear. Whatever side of the moon faced us on the sun, the sun would light it up. And we'd always see that fully illuminated side.

How many faces of the moon are there?

Providing there is a full moon on the 1st Jan and a lunar month as 29.53 days, there would be a total of 13 full moons throughout the year with the last being 20th/21st December, depending on leap year. The number of total phases (from new moon to new moon, or indeed full moon to full moon) is just over 12 in every year

Which planet is capable of producing its own light?

No - but they reflect some of the light that they receive from the sun back into space. This is why planets look like stars at night (when viewed with the naked eye).
