NASA did not send out Laika, a Soviet space dog, on a spacecraft that wouldn't return to Earth. The mission was carried out by the Soviet space program in 1957, not NASA. Unfortunately, Laika was never intended to return as the technology to safely bring spacecraft back from orbit was not developed at that time.
The dog that was sent into space in 1975 was a Russian dog named Bars. Bars was one of the dogs involved in the Soviet space program's experiments testing the effects of space travel on living organisms.
yes it was liaka it died on the first ever manned or we can say dogged mission 2 space by russia
no they don't i have heard of them sending up a K9 (a dog ) and a monkey and also satellite dishes but that's about it!
They didn't send humans up into space first, as they needed to find out the effects it had on the body, so they sent a dog, and a chimp into space, to conduct research, and make sure it was possible, or feasible.
The dog's name was Laika. Thanks to the USSR's space program, she was the first creature to ever orbit Earth. Unfortunately, she was also the first creature to die in space.

I don't know what the answer is, that's why I'm asking you! Now are you going to just stand there and look like a dog listening to a high pitched sound, or are you going to answer my question?!

Well it depends on what dog you are talking about, if you are talking about the first dog in space then the dogs name was Laika. She was the first animal to die in the soviet space program. ='( hope that helps
No because she died in space.

There was no Dog in the television program Lost In Space- a.k.a Space Family Robinson. The space craft was called the Jupiter II. There was a monkey, a chimpanzee named Debby the Bloop, but to my knowledge, no Canines. a Space dog was made up as a toy in the Moon Mcdare character who was sort of a space-faring action figure akin to G I Joe. I think he was Space Mutt, or Space Dog. This was a toy series not adapted to the small or large screen.

ANS 2 The first ever dog to go into space was Laika, a Russian stray dog who was trained for space and launched in 1957 aboard Sputnik 2. Unfortunately she died while on the flight.Really, Laika was a dog. I always thought the Laika was a female dog, or bitch.I have to fix my answer.
Her name was Laika, but sadly she died in space.
