No midnight
No such time as neither '12 pm'. nor '12 am' It is either '12 noon' or '12 midnight'. 'am/pm' is the initials of the Latin phrase ' ante/post meridian ' ; meaning 'before/after noon'. So if somewrites '12 am' , they are confusing you as to noon or midnight. Because if it is 12 noon , how can it be before noon or after noon. Similarly for midnight.
Midnight to noon is 12 hours.
yes and noon is 12p.m. i know it's confusing
Yes. There is a 12 o'clock midnight and a 12 o'clock noon. Midnight refers to 12 o'clock at night, and noon refers to 12 o'clock in the daytime. The time of day between midnight and noon is AM. The time of day between noon and midnight is PM. Noon and midnight are neither AM nor PM, they are just 12 noon and 12 midnight.
Neither. The correct way to identify 12:00 is to say 12:00 noon or 12:00 midnight.am stands for ante meridiem which means before noon and pm stands for post meridiem which means after noon. Since noon itself is neither before noon or after it, the use of am and pm is not appropriate. The same argument can be applied to midnight.
am and pm change at 12:00 noon. before 12:00 noon is am. at 12:00 it is noon. after 12:00 noon it is pm.
No such time as '12 am'. It is '12 noon' (midday) or 12 midnight. 'am/pm' are the Latin initials for 'ante/post merdian' , which means 'before/after noon'. So if it is '12 noon', how can it be 'am/before noon'. It is NOON. '12 am' or '12 pm' is a confusing nonsense.
12:18 noon=12:00

Noon would be 1200 hours or 12:00.
There is no such time as 12 am. am stands for "before noon" and before noon cannot be noon.
Noon is PM, midnight is AM.

No such time as 12 am !!!! Do you mean 12 midnight or 12 noon??? 'am' are the Latin initials for 'Ante Meridian' ; Before Noon. If it is midnight or noon it is NOT before or after noon. To answer your question, assuming you mean '12 midnight', then . from 5 pm to 12 midnight it is 7 hours. NB If you mean 12 noon then from 5 pm to the following 12 noon , it is 19 hours.
