The invention of the rocket by the Chinese did not include any that would reach significant altitudes (above 3000 m). The first recorded use as a weapon was in 1232, when they were launched against the Mongols. German V-2 military rockets in 1945 had the power to reach higher, near-space altitudes. But it was not until October 4, 1957, that the USSR successfully launched a satellite into Earth orbit, called "Sputnik 1".
The first modern liquid-fuel rocket, which laid the groundwork for space rockets, was invented by Robert H. Goddard in 1926. This marked the beginning of the development of rocket technology for space exploration.
Rockets are not flown. They are launched and ancient China had rockets. They invented gunpowder.
Robert Gabbard invented his rocket to explore the possibilities of using reusable rocket technology for commercial space transportation. He aimed to reduce the cost of accessing space and make space travel more accessible to individuals and organizations.
Robert Goddard invented the first liquid-fueled rocket in 1926 because he wanted to prove that space travel was possible. He believed that rockets could be used to facilitate travel and exploration beyond Earth's atmosphere. His work laid the foundation for modern rocket technology.
The last space rocket launch, as of 24th June 2013, was on 11th June 2013. The Chinese rocket was a manned mission to the Tiangong 1 laboratory module. This was China's fifth manned space flight.

He is the "father" of rocket science and invented the first working rocket.
They invented the rocket yes but not anything that went high enough to go into space, these were gun powdered rockets, the kind we use in fireworks displays, Not spacecraft.
Rockets have technically been around since the Chinese invented gunpowder (from saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal dust) but I don't think they bothered to name them. The Chinese used these rockets both for warfare and celebrations (i.e. fireworks shows). The first rocket with the capability of reaching what we call space (60 ~ 70 miles up) was named Vergeltungswaffe 2.

In 1969, the first rocket went to the moon. The name of the rocket that propelled them into space was the Saturn V rocket.

Actually Robert Goddard did not make the first rocket. The chinese did in the first century a.d. But Robbert Goddard made his first rocket in the early 1920's witch led on to the Bazooka
Goddard did not create a rocket that went into space. He created the first liquid fuel rocket which was which lead to space rockets and for this is known as the father of modern rocketry. The first rocket to reach space was the V2 rocket made by the Germans during World War 2 as a weapon to deliver bombs.
