Lens
A lens is.
A lens is a piece of curved glass or other transparent material that refracts light to form an image. "Lens" can also refer to the transparent structure in the eye that focuses light onto the retina.
An orbit is formed when an object is moving in a curved path around another object due to the gravitational pull between them. The two motions involved in an orbit are the object's forward motion (tangential velocity) and the pull of gravity keeping it in a curved path (centripetal force).
Inertia is the "force" that causes an object in a curved path to pull away from the center. Inertia is actually the tendency of anything with mass to resist a change in motion. In other words, an object at rest will not move because of inertia, unless it is acted on by an unbalanced force, and an object in motion will continue to travel at a constant speed in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object traveling in a circular path pulls away from the center because inertia tries to keep the object traveling in a straight line.
The curved path of an object thrown or launched on or near the surface of a planet is called a trajectory. This trajectory is influenced by gravity, air resistance, and the initial velocity of the object. The shape of the trajectory can be parabolic for objects thrown horizontally, or elliptical for objects thrown at an angle.

A lens is.
A curved transparent object may refer to a lens, such as those found in eyeglasses or cameras, or it could be a curved piece of glass like a magnifying glass or a glass vase. These objects are designed with a curved shape to focus or distort light passing through them.

A concave lens is an example of a transparent object that is thinner in the middle than at the edges. These lenses are curved inward and cause light rays passing through them to diverge.
Clear.
The curved transparent object made of glass in a microscope is called a lens. Lenses in microscopes help magnify and focus light passing through the specimen to produce an image. There are typically multiple lenses in a microscope to achieve high magnification and resolution.
