Moonquakes are seismic activities on the surface of the moon, much like earthquakes on Earth. They are caused by a variety of factors such as the gravitational pull of Earth, the cooling and shrinking of the moon's interior, and meteorite impacts. Studying moonquakes helps scientists to learn more about the moon's geology and internal structure.
