Many asteroids are in a loose distribution in orbit round the sun, (called the asteroid belt) some of them are in perturbed orbits due to them sometimes getting too close, some extremely so. Occasionally these,(sometimes not much more than odd bits of dust) intercept the earth's orbit just as the earth is passing by and fall to earth as "shooting stars". But if a really big one happened to get caught by the earth the result could be wide-scale destruction, and that would be called a rogue asteroid.

Has a rogue planet ever come near earth?

As far as we know, no rogue planet has ever come near Earth. Comets and asteroids have come near Earth, but not actual planets.

how many total asteroids are there (asteroid belt AND kuiper belt) (also including rogue asteroids that arent in those asteroid belts)?

The total number of asteroids in the solar system is not known with certainty, as many asteroids are small and difficult to detect, and new asteroids are constantly being discovered. However, astronomers estimate that there are millions of asteroids in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and potentially trillions of objects in the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune. In addition, there are also a number of asteroids that do not reside in either the asteroid belt or Kuiper Belt, but instead follow their own unique orbits. These objects are sometimes referred to as "rogue asteroids," and their exact number is not known. Overall, while the exact number of asteroids in the solar system is uncertain, it is clear that there are many millions, if not trillions, of these small rocky bodies orbiting the sun.

Why do some asteroids leave there orbit?

They could be knocked out of orbit by being hit from a comet, or a 'rogue' asteroid that's not part of the asteroid belt.

Where does asteroid's take place in the solar system?

Most asteroids are found in the asteroid belt just out past Mars or in the Kuiper belt which is out past all the planets. Although, rogue asteroids can be found literally anywhere in the solar system.
