They uses the science of optics which is a branch of physics. Also anatomy a branch of biology. The design of the specticals part of engineering for the alloys the frames and made of. Chemistry in the make up of the glass in the lenses and the plastic of the nose guard and ear grips. Optomery, physics of the lens and the eye. Biology ( the human eye ) and chemistry ( fluid in the eye - chemical make up ).
From what I understand he was not very tall and tended to be on the heavy side. In his later years he suffered from gout, and he did like to drink and eat rich foods. The man knew how to party.
