modern space facilities
The universe IS space, plus everything that's in it.
The universe, as recognized by modern science, is the aggregate of observable, measurable reality defined as the whole region of space within which light has had time to traverse since the big bang. It consists of a four-dimensional space-time continuum containing all matter, energy, and forces. The universe is mostly a vacuum or empty space.
One of the most famous pieces of equipment launched from a space shuttle was the Hubble Space Telescope in 1990. This iconic telescope has provided groundbreaking observations of the universe, transforming our understanding of space. The International Space Station (ISS) was also assembled using components launched from the space shuttle, making it another significant piece of equipment launched during the shuttle era.
NASA uses a wide range of equipment for space exploration, including spacecraft such as the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station, telescopes like the Hubble Space Telescope, robotic rovers like Curiosity on Mars, and various scientific instruments for studying space and celestial bodies. They also use specialized suits for astronauts, communication systems, and ground-based facilities for mission control and research.
The Universe is 'space' however space is described as outside of Earth's Orbit whilst the Universe is everything. Earth is in the Universe but not normally in 'space' This is of course talking about normal usage. Scientifically/ Astro-physics level I think there are very minor differences.
