the new moon phase is the phase of the moon when the moon appears to not appear! in other words, you cant see it when its a new moon. this is because the moon is in between the earth and the sun. and the moon moves almost right with the sun. so the moon is hidden behind the suns bright glare. and so it goes down with the sun also. so theres no time to see it!
