Best Answer

Planets are kept in their orbit by the suns gravity, yet their momentum keeps them from falling into the sun. (Thank goodness!)

Planets orbit in the direction their star rotates, so in our solar system, all planets orbit in the direction of the star.

What is the difference between a planet's orbit and gravitational pull?

A planets gravitational pull is the force it exerts on other objects. The planets orbit is the path it takes due to gravity. Basically gravity causes the orbit.
