Best Answer

The Sun is the same color as here on Earth; after all, it is the same Sun shining down on both Mars and Earth. (And Venus, and Mercury, and Jupiter, and....)

However, from a Martian perspective, the sky and Sun have a distinctly reddish tinge - caused by the red dust of the Red Planet. As thin as Mars' atmosphere is, it is never entirely free of dust. Dust storms on Mars are spectacular; we can see them from Earth! In 1976, the scheduled landing of the Viking lander on Mars on July 4th, 1976 (for the Bicentennial) had to be postponed because of planet-wide dust storms that were obscuring the entire surface. They weren't able to land for over 2 weeks, until July 20th (the anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing).

The sun appears slightly smaller and less bright on Mars due to its greater distance from the Sun. It would still appear yellowish-white like it does on Earth.
