he was the first man to reach furthest south he became very famous wrote a very popular book about it and gave his country glory (Brittan), until Another Country beat his record. After that Shackleton set out another expedition to be the first one to cross the Antarctic, and to come back with each of his crew members alive. he did not cross the Antarctic but everyone survived.
