I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way. You can get it from wiki.
While Buzz Aldrin said many things on the moon, the best known is his description of the landscape before him as ' magnificent desolation.'
I believe he was the Lunar Lander pilot and his words were "10 feet...CONTACT!" It was a rather dramatic landing for them and they almost didn't make it. Their fuel reserves were down to fumes! He said "beautiful view .......magnificent desolation "when he first stepped on the moon
false, it was neil armstong who said, "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."
Aldrin had said in 1969 that he got the name Buzz , by his younger sister who failed to say brother. It always came out as buzzer. He got it from his sister who called him Buzzer instead of brother.
The second man to step foot on the moon was Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. From the mission transcript:109:43:01 Armstrong: A little more. About another inch. (Pause)[Buzz jumps up to the bottom rung.]109:43:06 Armstrong: There, you've got it.109:43:08 Aldrin: That's a good (last) step.109:43:10 Armstrong: Yeah. About a 3-footer. (Pause)[Buzz jumps back down to the footpad.]109:43:16 Aldrin: Beautiful view!109:43:18 Armstrong: Isn't that something! Magnificent sight out here.109:43:24 Aldrin: Magnificent desolation. (Long Pause)[Still holding on to the ladder with both hands, Buzz hops backwards onto the surface. After a brief moment, he turns to his left toward the MESA.]109:43:47 Aldrin: (Right hand still on the ladder) Looks like the secondary strut had a little thermal effects on it right here, Neil.

Neil Armstrong did say a prayer. Buzz Aldrin took communion shortly after landing.
It was never told who Buzz's father was although some people think it's Commander Nebula (from the animated series). Other people say that it is Zerg because of the scene in Toy Story 2
Name recognition-wise, I'd say Buzz Aldrin. I think that this is very much a generational thing. Older people will not know who Messi is. Younger people are fairly unlikely to have heard of Aldrin

After landing on the Moon, he radioed Earth: "I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way." He gave himself Communion on the surface of the Moon, but he kept it secret because of a lawsuit brought by atheist activist Madalyn Murray O'Hair over the reading of Genesis on Apollo 8.[11] Aldrin, a church elder, used a pastor's home communion kit given to him by Dean Woodruff and recited words used by his pastor at Webster Presbyterian Church. Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969. He said: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind". Buzz Aldrin followed him down the ladder and became the second man to walk on the moon.

Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed. That is what Neil Armstrong said when Buzz Aldrin and he landed on the Moon. That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. That is what Neil Armstrong said when he first set foot on the lunar surface.
