Many scientists believe that our world will be engulfed by the Sun when it becomes a red giant- in about 5 billion years from now, 2016 CE. Be elsewhere, if possible! As for the rest of the universe, many scientists will not even speculate about it's ultimate fate, as there are so many competing hypotheses regarding it's origins. There are those who believe that many other universes exist in what they currently describe as a multiverse. Only time will tell.

What do scietists think will eventually happen to the universe?

Scientists predict that the universe will continue to expand indefinitely, eventually becoming cold and dark in what is referred to as the "heat death" scenario. This will occur as all stars burn out, leaving behind remnants of galaxies and black holes.

Are there past or future universes?

According to Einstein (although it sounds a bit far fetched and plain out 'weird' this Universe is constantly doubling into new universes every single millisecond, meaning that every new universe is therefore NEW and there for on the day of initial coming into creation. Each Universe (says Einstein) is identical and their occurances are identical, and everything that happens in one Universe will happen in the other (but they cannot effect each other). That's where Time Travel comes into play... Einstein say the Universe was created (not saying how) and a millisecond later a new Universe was born, 1 millisecond behind the first. Now, he doesn't say weather every universe splits every millisecond, he just this one. So, if we want to get ten millisecond into the past, we have to go to Universe number ten. In that sense, we cannot go to the future because this universe is the furthest yet. The future (says I) doesn't exist. Also, this removes the chances of time paradoxes (the act of changing the present by doing something in the past and all). If you somehow enter a different Universe an kill your dad before you were born, THAT Universe's future is changed and different from this one's.However Einstein no sense in his explanation of how to get to an alternate or parallel Universe (something about copying every detail of yourself and this disintegrating and then passing through a foam cube or something and being re created as a replication of your in a different Universe.

Why does NASA go to space?

To study how the universe works, and to possibly travel to another planet should something happen to Earth. Also, to search for life in space, and to develop new tools and processes to use on Earth. NASA is also generally seeking knowledge about Man's place in the universe.

Is there one universe or is there more than one?

Well, (and my tech ed teacher told me this), for every star, there are 10 planets. So if there is 10 planets in each star, i don't think that we're the only planet with life on it. No one knows and probably never will. Some people believe there are multiple universes, possibly an infinite number of them. Co-existing but not touching. Every time a decision is made is a branching point. Make a choice and the future plays out one way. Make another choice and a different future will happen. Consider how many decisions are made every day by everyone and consider how many possible futures there might be. Infinite is the only word that even begins to cover that.

If gravity dominates the expansion of the universe what would happen to the universe?

If gravity dominated the expansion of the universe, the universe would eventually stop expanding and begin to contract. This would lead to a "Big Crunch" scenario where all matter in the universe collapses back into a hot, dense state.

Will the big bang ever happen again?

The Big Bang refers to the event that created the universe. It is not expected to happen again as the universe is already expanding and evolving from that initial event. However, there are theories like the Big Crunch or Big Rip which describe possible future scenarios for the universe.

In space what will happen in the future?

the universe is expanding. so in the future all the planets will loose gravity leaving their orbits everything will become a chaos

Will the universe die ever?

It is not certain if it will or not but scientists have theorized that there will be a time that atoms will begin to fall apart after so many years causing everything in the universe to fall apart. Nothing will be able to withstand the deterioration but they say this wont happen for another billion, even trillion years.

How do quantum fluctuations from nothing contribute to the creation of the universe?

Quantum fluctuations are tiny, temporary changes in energy that can happen in empty space. Some scientists believe that these fluctuations could have played a role in the creation of the universe by triggering a rapid expansion known as the Big Bang. This theory suggests that the universe could have emerged from a state of nothingness due to these fluctuations.

What could happen if the big bang happend again?

Some scientists say that there may already have been several 'Big Bangs", each creating its own universe, in what is termed a multiverse. The universes are so separated in space and time that we would never be able to prove the existence of another universe. In the same way, another 'Big Bang' far away from our universe would never be noticed from our universe. We have other things to worry about.Other scientists say that our own universe, billion of years from now, will begin to collapse to a central point. After this, there will be another 'Big Bang' event, spawning a successor universe. This may already have happened in the distant past, and could happen many times in the distant future.

Do you believe in parallel universe Why or why not?

i believe in parallel because well, i believe in String theory and even some of the smartest mind in the world such as Michio Kaku also believe in parallel universe. It is the most reasonable theory of what happen before the Big Bang. So what happens is that there are multiverse of Universe out there that are parallel to us, when two universe collide together or split into two universe, a Big Bang occurs. So to me, yes i believe in parallel universe. However there are no evidence that parallel universe exist. but in the law of Physics, it does.

What due scientists think will happen to the universe?

It will continue expanding. The details of other things that will happen are somewhat fuzzy, but one way or the other, the time will come when there will be no more available energy (the so-called "heat death"). The Wikipedia article on "Fate of the Universe" gives some additional details of what is likely to happen.
