Actually it wont be "nothing major".
When all of the planets line up it will effect the earths temperature, the moons (resorting in water effects) and other natural disasters ie.earthquakes, volcanoes erupting, tornados, hurricanes etc...
The year of 2012 will have the next planet allignment...according to scientist this will take place during 21st of December, the same day the mayans predicted the world to end (or the end of Mayan calander).
Every 25thousand years.. the next time will be in 2012
No, the planets did not align on Wednesday, March 10th. Planetary alignments occur when the planets in our solar system appear in the same part of the sky from our perspective on Earth, but true alignments are quite rare.
The time it takes to get from one planet to another depends on the departure and arrival planets. It can take about two years to get from Earth to Mars where it will take about six years to get from Earth to Jupiter.
The planets did not align per say; however they did come into a state of Syzygy ( look on wikipedia; and commit to memory, because its great for Scrabble). On that date (3/10/1982), all 9 planets came with in 91 degrees (this is debated, I've heard as much as 95 degrees) of alignment, on the same side of the sun. This is a very rare event, and will only happen once in the length of human kind. We would have to be pretty lucky to last another million or so years. Looking at it from a purely statistical standpoint, all 9 planets will never perfectly align in the same plane. March 10th 1982 is the closest we will ever get.
The last time all of the planets aligned in a straight line was 561 BC. This phenomenon is known as a grand conjunction, where all the visible planets appear to align along the zodiac during a short period.
Then it will look quite spectacular.
Align the Planets was created on -20-05-04.
the planets align every millenia
A syzygy
No. Almost never happens. Depends on how well aligned you mean, occasionally all the planets will be within 45° (as seen from the Sun) or within a cone that has the vertex at the Sun and has an opening of 30°, this happens every decade or so. All the planets can never align less than 2° because the deviation from the ecliptic for some of the planets is greater than this.
HURR durr hurr
in a line
Never.
the alignment of the planetS: jupiTer, satUrn, rP900, and M30. It coulD also align with the order of the sun rays.

All planets in our solar system will never align perfectly in a straight line due to their different orbital paths and speeds. The closest alignment that occurs is called planetary alignment, and it happens roughly every 500 years.
Yes, it is theoretically possible for all the planets in our solar system to align, but it is extremely rare due to the different orbits and speeds at which they move. The last time all the planets aligned in a straight line was in 561 BC, and the next alignment of all the planets is not expected to occur for several centuries.
