The Hubble constant is a reading we get when we measure the spectrum of a star and have to shift it to set it right with the elements we see in the colors it is emitting. All elements have a colored line (H) or lines (all other elements) that are particular to it alone. The color shift is caused by the speed the star traveling. Some approaching stars are shifted to the blue or higher spectrum. Most are shifted red. Moving away from us. Just like a train whistle sounds as the train approaches and it gets lower in frequency as it passes and goes away from us.

What are the characteristics of the galaxies?

Color. The type of star effects the color. Like temperature wise. Spiral galaxies are generally more blue than elliptical galaxies due to its stars. Size is another characteristic along with luminosity.

What color do elliptical galaxies tend to be and why?

Elliptical galaxies tend to be reddish in color because they are made up of older stars that emit more red light. These galaxies have used up most of their gas and dust, resulting in a lack of ongoing star formation. This makes their overall color appear reddish compared to younger, bluer galaxies.

What galaxy contains older stars with a red color?

Elliptical Galaxies.

What color are galaxies?

Galaxies can have a wide range of colors depending on the stars they contain and how those stars emit light. Generally, galaxies appear in colors like white, blue, red, and yellow. These colors relate to the age and types of stars present in the galaxy.

How do galaxies get their color?

they get their colors by the different stars in the galaxy

What Galaxy's contains mostly older stars with a red color?

Elliptical Galaxies.

What color are the most common types of galaxies?

The most common types of galaxies, particularly spiral galaxies, often appear bluish due to the presence of young, hot stars that emit blue light. In contrast, elliptical galaxies tend to look more reddish, as they are composed mainly of older stars that emit light in the red spectrum. Overall, the color of a galaxy can indicate its star formation activity and age, with blue galaxies being more active and red galaxies being older and more quiescent.

Do galaxies have atmospheres?

Galaxies do not have atmospheres like planets or moons. Galaxies are vast collections of stars, gas, dust, and dark matter bound together by gravity, but lack the distinct atmospheric layers found in celestial bodies like Earth.
