Satellite communications. The use of satellites in orbit around the earth to relay data/voice from one place to the other. That's as basic of a definition as I can give you.
The Satcom series of satellites were originally developed and operated by RCA American Communications. The first Satcom satellite , named Satcom 1, was launched on December 13, 1975.
Communication. It stands for Satellite communications.
The OE-538 is a multi-function communications mast used on US and Australian submarines. The frequency range of the antenna covers typical military communications bands. VLF, HF, VHF, UHF (SATCOM and LOS) communications, L-band GPS navigation and Iridium SATCOM, and IFF.
SATCOM, or satellite communications, plays a crucial role in public services by providing reliable communication links for emergency response, disaster management, and public safety. It enables real-time data transmission between remote areas and central command centers, ensuring timely coordination and information sharing. Additionally, SATCOM supports various public services, including law enforcement, healthcare, and transportation, by facilitating communication in regions where terrestrial networks may be unavailable or unreliable. This enhances operational efficiency and responsiveness in critical situations.
Graduates from the Satcom (Satellite Communications) Air Force tech school typically earn credits toward their Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree. These credits may include technical training and coursework related to satellite communications, electronics, and maintenance. Additionally, graduates may receive credit for general education requirements, depending on their specific training and experiences. This can help them progress toward obtaining an associate's degree while serving in the Air Force.
Most two-way radios are 'duplex' transceivers. This means they transmit (uplink)on one frequency and receive (downlink) on another- spaced at least 13 MHz apart. This stops interference between the radio's components.

An earth terminal transmits data up to the satellite. The satellite can then either shoot it right back down in its footprint to another earth station where the data was meant to go. It can relay it directly to any amount of other satellites and then down to the other earth terminal you were wanting to talk to. Or it can go up to the satellite, back down to another terminal, up to another satellite, and then down to where you wanted to "talk" to.
The most advanced military communications satellite system to date is the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system. It consists of multiple satellites in geosynchronous orbits, providing high-capacity, secure communications for U.S. forces and allied partners. The WGS system enhances global communication capabilities and supports various military operations across land, air, and sea.
A decimal is a little dot that separates whole numbers from un-whole numbers. For example: 48.967 The number to the left of a decimal is a whole number and the number to the right of the decimal is an un-whole number, ie. a fraction.Decimals are the numbers that live in between whole numbers. Example: 1.5, which mean one and a half.relating to or denoting a system of numbers and arithmetic based on the number ten, tenth parts, and powers of ten:
