Those reported have included red glows, flashes, obscurations, and abnormal albedo and shadow effects. However there is no unambiguous photographic or photometric record of such an event and some authorities are inclined to dismiss them as either aberrational effects in Earth's atmosphere, changes in lunar lighting conditions, or outright illusions.
