What is statocentrism?

Statocentrism is the bias towards viewing a particular social group or demographic as the norm or standard against which other groups are compared. This leads to privileging certain groups while marginalizing others in society. It often results in the reinforcement of stereotypes and discrimination against non-dominant groups.
