Typically we see Mars and Saturn as the two planets that are nearest to Jupiter. If all 3 were in a perfect line on the same side of the Sun, Mars would be nearer to Jupiter than Saturn. However, if Jupiter and Saturn were in a straight line on one side of the sun and Mars in a straight line from them but was on the other side of the sun, then Saturn would be nearer.
