Leto, a Titan goddess, was a wife of Zeus (before Hera) and became pregnant with his children, she fled from Hera (who was his wife at the time) who had found out and cursed her that she would not rest long enough to give birth, the Python (which Apollo later slayed) hunted her; Leto gave birth to Apollo on Delos a floating isle that stood on four pillars when Leto came to it; a minor myth calls Delos also Asteria -sister of Leto- who changed herself into a quail and then a island to escape the lusts of Zeus.
