The value of a limited edition ten dollar 1996 Stratosphere coin made of .999 fine silver can vary based on factors such as its condition, demand among collectors, and the current market price of silver. Generally, its value may be higher than the face value of ten dollars, especially if it is in excellent condition or part of a sought-after collection. To determine a more precise value, it's advisable to consult recent auction results or a numismatic expert.
It's likely only the Franklin Mint and NASA know how many were struck. From the article in the related links: An unknown number of medallions, minted by The Franklin Mint, were given to the crew to fly to the Moon and back. As no landing occurred, Lovell returned all the coins to the Mint. The sterling silver medallions were later melted down and added to non-flown metal to strike the Mint's limited edition set "Project Apollo: Man's Greatest Adventure" commemorating all the lunar flights.
A 1964 dime is made of 90% silver and 10% copper, known as a "silver dime" because of its silver content. These dimes were the last to be minted with silver before the composition changed to a copper-nickel alloy in 1965.
It isn't. No 1969 quarters are silver. Silver quarters were only made in 1964 and before. All quarters from 1965-present are copper-nickel. There isn't even a 1969 commemorative quarter that was struck in silver. There is no possible way for it to be silver.
Not all silver. It is referred to as silver clad. Silver on both sides (40% by weight) with copper in the center. The semi-solid silver Kennedy half dollar stopped production in 1964, made of 90% silver. See the related link for more information.
