The Great Wall of China is often mentioned as the only man-made object visible from the moon, but this is not true. It's an urban myth.
The distance between the Moon and Earth is 378 000 km, you can barely see the continents.
Probably it's the Great Wall of China. Correction of the above There are none. The 'Great wall of China' being seen from the moon is a myth. It cannot even easily be seen from the International Space station. The myth grew up several years ago but there is actually no truth in it. The myth dated from the conspiracy theorists who claimed that, because from the moon one 'could see the Great wall of China clearly, although it was just a few feet thick' then we should be able to see the Apollo landers on the moon - that produced craters far bigger than e Wall was thick. As we couldn't see these, then this was 'proof' that the Apollo missions were staged in a warehouse and didn't really happen.
Of course, all this is total nonsense, and the Apollo crafts are silmply too small, even usung the Hubble telescoope, to be seen from earth. Similarly the Great Wall is equally far too small to be seen from the moon.
None can, unless you have a powerful telescope, so that you might see the man-made lakes behind several large dams. From the Moon, all but the largest of the world's islands are indiscernible.
Many people have heard that the Great Wall of China can be seen from the Moon, given its length. That was a 19th century conjecture. But it is vastly narrower than some other human constructions, and can barely be seen from orbit, a distance of only 60 to 100 miles, much less from the quarter-million-mile distance of the Moon.
