The poles, which are located at approximately 90 degrees latitude, receive the least amount of solar energy due to their extreme tilt away from the sun during certain times of the year. This results in prolonged periods of darkness and very low sun angles, leading to reduced solar energy reaching these regions.

Earth's hemispheres receive approximately the same amount of energy from the sun during the equinoxes, which occur around March 20th and September 22nd each year. At these times, the tilt of the Earth's axis causes the sun's rays to strike the Earth more directly at the equator, resulting in equal daylight and darkness across the globe.
The main factor that influences the amount of energy that different places on Earth receive from the sun is the places location. The closer it is to the equator the more sun energy it will receive.
