Gliese 581-b is the earth like planet although its about the same size as Jupiter its conditions there are very similar

In the future we hope to find more smaller planets the size of earth we cannot find smaller planets because our telescope aren't powerful enough

The most like planet to earth is Mars. many people think Venus because it is the same approx. size and closest to earth, but Venus is a deadly planet with so much pressure and toxic gases, live would never have a chance at living there. Mars has supported life for at least a while, as scientists have found fossilized bacteria, but it probably just got there when earth and mars collided. Mars has some oxygen in the air but not enough to support life on Earth, so if humans ever did go to mars they would need artificial oxygen. Mars has also had water on it, though Im not sure if its gone or frozen. Mars surface is most like Earth too. There are valleys and mountains. Its temperature is not that much different either. It varies from -190 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Earth is around -120 something degrees Fahrenheit to 136 degrees Fahrenheit. But if you looked at Venus, Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system at almost 900 degrees F. So Mars has around the same temperature so humans and other animals can stand the temperature.The newest found planet is Gliese 581G

Gliese 581 is a red dwarf star that is around 20.5 light years from ours. Up to six planets have been detected in orbit around this star Gliese e, b, c, g, d and f. The fourth one out (Gliese 581 g) is thought to be the most Earth-like planet found so far, if it were to be a rocky planet. It is the right distance from its star in terms of ideal temperature (for liquid water). It is 3.1 to 4.3 times more massive than the earth. It was discovered in September 2010, but is still to be confirmed.
