What frequencies do radar detectors use?

Radar detectors don't "use" any frequencies. However they listen to certain frequencies known as bands(K, Ka, X, Ku). These bands are the frequencies allocated to radar guns to operate on.

What animal has a built-in radar?

Radar. You might mean echolocation. Bats are a good example

What is echlocation?

Echolocation is a type of radar bats use to fly blind. The bats send out pulses of super sonic sound and navigate by the speed of the pulses return from what they bounced ( echoed ) off.

What is radar wave length?

Assuming you mean the wavelength: Radar can use electromagnetic waves of VERY different frequencies; see this section of "Radar" in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar#Frequency_bandsThe list also includes the corresponding wavelengths; or you can divide the speed of light by the frequency.

Did the NZ cops change their radar frequencies recently so that radar detectors cant pick them up anymore?

Not really. For years they have been using K band and Ka band. Yet fairly recently they have mostly phased out the use of K band. New Zealand is allowed to use the same three Ka band frequencies which are used in the USA. These Ka frequencies are 33.8, 34.7 and 35.5. The 34.7 Ka frequency is the easiest to detect with any quality radar detector. The 35.5 frequency is poorly detected by some radar detector brands, notably Cobra. The 33.8 Ka frequency may be only fairly well detected by dome radar detector brands.

Do bats use radar?

No. Bat's use ultrasound (witch is a pressure wave) rather then radio frequency (electro-magnetic waves) and therefore are more like Sonar then Radar

What type of new technology did France use in world war 2?

What is a special type of radar meteoroligists could use to predict when a tornado might touch down?

Doppler radar is a special type of radar used by meteorologists to detect the rotation within thunderstorms that may produce tornadoes. This radar can track the wind movement within a storm and provide early warning signs of possible tornado formation.

What type of radar is used by police in Hawaii?
