You can see a total lunar eclipse whenever the Moon passes into the shadow of the Earth.

The next total lunar eclipse will be on April 15, 2014, beginning just before 1AM Eastern Time, and will be visible in all but the far northeastern areas of North America. The best view will be in the western part of the USA, particularly from Arizona, Nevada, and California. It'll be even better in Hawaii.
