The International Space Station was first launched in 1998. It was progressively built in subsequent years, and continues to be added to. The first resident crew went aboard in November 2000 and there has always been people on board since then.
The astronauts have been aboarding it since 1998.
what International Space Station is the first fully functioning space station to orbit the earth.
There are no astronauts on the moon now. The last time astronauts were on the moon was in 1972. There are lots of astronauts in space. Most of them are on the International Space Station, which is orbiting the Earth. They are doing lots of scientific jobs there, and they are continuing the construction of the space station. There are usually 6 people on it at any one time. The Space Shuttle usually brings people to and from the International Space Station. So when it is also orbiting the Earth, there are more than 6 people in space.
The U.S. space project that provided astronauts with practice in piloting spacecraft and working in space is the Skylab program. Launched in 1973, Skylab was America's first space station, where astronauts conducted scientific experiments and learned to live and work in a microgravity environment. This experience was crucial in preparing for future long-duration missions and contributed to the development of subsequent space programs, including the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station.
Actually, the International Space Station (ISS) is not the first space station to orbit Earth. Several others, such as the Soviet Union's Mir space station and the United States' Skylab, preceded it. The ISS is, however, the largest and most advanced space station ever built, representing an international collaboration among several countries.

There has only been one (1) astronaut that has voted in a U.S. Presidential Election from space ... In the 2004 Election Leroy Chiao casted an absentee ballot from the International Space Station ...
Salyut program of the U.S.S.R was the first space station. Skylab was the United States first space station. Then there was MIR from U.S.S.R. Now there is the international Space Station.

First of all, the international space station was not launched. The first part was launched but all the other parts of the iss were put on by astronauts in space shuttle missions the construction began in 1998. By 2000 people were able to live on the iss. As they lived they attached parts. The construction was complete in 2011. Soo yeah it was not really launched. I hope I helped:)
International Space Station was created in 1998.
As of 2021, there have been over 200 expeditions to the International Space Station (ISS) since the first crew arrived in 2000. These expeditions typically last around six months and involve astronauts conducting scientific research, maintenance, and other activities onboard the ISS.
The International Space Station (ISS) was developed through a partnership between multiple countries, including the United States, Russia, Japan, Canada, and Europe. The project officially began in 1998, with the launch of the first module, and has since been continuously inhabited by astronauts from various nations, conducting research in space.
