Assembly was started in 1998.
The International Space Station (ISS) is a collaborative project involving multiple space agencies, primarily NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), ESA (European Space Agency), JAXA (Japan), and CSA (Canadian Space Agency). Construction began in 1998, with the first module, Zarya, launched by Russia. Since then, numerous modules and components have been added through various missions, resulting in the ISS as a symbol of international cooperation in space exploration.
The program that took astronauts to the moon was Apollo. It was not a space station.
NASA is the most popular space station. NASA was the one who put the satellite in orbit and NASA has also sent the first mon the moon. NASA is located in Houston, Texas. It haves one of the most high technology in the industry. Hope this helpedd :)
To carry things to and from orbit around the Earth.
The International Space Station (or ISS for short) is like a puzzle or legos. It is put together, 1 piece at a time. In all, there are 100 major peices that the ISS is built of. The ISS is expected to be finished in 2011.
Put away space station and touch word'fuel'
You can say, "The international space station is where astronauts from different countries work together in space." This shows how people from around the world can come together to achieve something amazing!

The size it is way to big to be put together on earth and sent to space we do not have any way to get it to space.

No. It would be too expensive and impracticable. Any repairs required are easier and cheaper to do in space. It would probably be cheaper to build an entirely new Space station than to return the old one to Earth, repair it and put it back up into Earth orbit.
First of all, the international space station was not launched. The first part was launched but all the other parts of the iss were put on by astronauts in space shuttle missions the construction began in 1998. By 2000 people were able to live on the iss. As they lived they attached parts. The construction was complete in 2011. Soo yeah it was not really launched. I hope I helped:)
To have something "discovered" it has to all ready exist and the space station was not discovered, but made by man and put into space.
This was the first space station and was put into orbit by the USSR.
